Hi, fellow NeHOAns,
Lois Rubinstein and I have decided to schedule an “unofficial” meet in place of the Rhode Island meet that has been canceled. This meet is intended for NeHOA members and non-NeHOA members alike so invite your friends. Here are the details:
“Unofficial” host hotel will be the Days Inn by Wyndham
52 Sullivan Ave. Liberty, NY 12754
No group rate or hotel block reserved. As of March 22, 2021 there are plenty of rooms for the weekend but I suggest you call and reserve NOW even if you are not sure you are going yet. There is no charge to cancel. Prices are higher than we usually pay. For example, our king room the price is $180.90 each for Friday and Saturday nights and $162.90 for Sunday night. (And taxes on top of these costs, too.) This is with a 10% discount using Wyndham Rewards. Same discount applies for AARP and AAA. Please feel free to search third party websites to see if a better rate is available. A grab-n-go breakfast is included. The hotel has a restaurant/bar that is open from 6 PM to 11 PM everyday but closed on Sundays. The hotel has indoor and outdoor pools. They are closed now due to COVID but may be open by the time we arrive. The hotel is on the edge of town with plenty of other restaurants nearby. Trailer parking? Not sure. Google it and judge for yourself. There are other places to stay in the area so make the choice that is best for you. I chose this hotel after much research and thought it was nice.
May 28 – 31, 2021.
This is Woodstock’s backyard. We will be touring Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. This museum features all things Woodstock and area history. The museum is open every day from 10 AM to 5 PM. The plan is to visit at 10 AM on Saturday, however, those who do not want to be in the group can tour any time during business hours.
As it turns out there is going to be so much more to do during our weekend than we initially thought. The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts has announced a festival on the concert grounds at the museum. Please check out https://www.bethelwoodscenter.org/events/memorial-day-weekend-market-open-house. Admission to the museum has been reduced to $5 for Saturday, May 29 and Sunday, May 30. We are still planning to visit the museum at 10 AM Saturday morning. Hope you can join us!
There is also an optional augmented reality tour available for $5 per person. You can decide on this tour once you get to the museum. You will use an iPad while walking in the concert field and become a virtual concert attendee (minus the psychotropic substances). The museum address is 200 Hurd Road Bethel, NY 12720. Phone number is 845-583-2000.
No banquet, door prizes, raffles, business meeting, or hospitality room. No roped off area in parking lot but I am sure we can claim an area out of the way for ourselves. No need to let us know if you are coming. Just show up. Although we only have one tour listed here, there are plenty of other things to see in the area to fill your weekend.
If you have any questions please contact us.
